Kollam, in the state of Kerala, is in the southwestern part of India. It is also known as the Cashew Town. Kollam’s history is rich and complex. The port city of Kollam served as a commercial hub for countries all over the world. Kollam was a popular stop for tourists and international merchants.

Kollam is bounded on all sides by water: to the north is Alappuzha, to the south is Thiruvananthapuram, to the east is Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), and to the west is the Arabian Sea. Kollam is the state of Kerala’s fourth largest city. Kollam is known for its stunning backwaters.
